This summer the middle school is having a Summer Book Club for all students entering 5th – 8th grades for the school year 21 – 22. There will be a session in June and another in July. The titles that will be read are Small Spaces by Katherine Arden and The Unsung Hero of Birdsong, USA by Brenda Woods.

Grades 4th – 8th volleyball players can join Mount Vernon Volleyball staff and current and former players to learn skills, IQ, and the mindset of an MV Volleyball player at the 2021 Volleyball Youth Summer Camps.
Registration is due June 14, 2021
The camp stresses fundamentals while incorporating team concepts and play. Emphasis
will be placed on developing individual offensive and defensive skills. Teaching sessions will
include instruction on shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, team defense, team offense,
individual defense, and individual offense. Available to 3rd – 12th graders.
This camp is designed for softball athletes in grades 3rd – 7th. The goal is to have each camper leave with a better understanding of fundamentals, improved individual skills, greater softball knowledge, and a positive team experience.
Registration is due May 14, 2021.
This will be a fundamentals based camp with a strong emphasis on having FUN. Campers will work to improve individual offensive and defensive skills. Areas of the game covered include: shooting,
passing, dribbling, rebounding, team defense and offense. All while continuing to stress fundamentals and team play.
