For students who walk to school, we would like to make you aware of sidewalk closures that will begin the week of September 29. We have been notified by the City of Mount Vernon that crews will be starting on the west side of Mount Vernon and working their way eastward to replace sidewalks. Locations will be closed to pedestrian traffic, requiring the use of alternate pathways, likely for a few days. These areas will be clearly marked with caution tape, signs and/or barricades.
The City will provide regular updates on active work locations via the City website and Facebook to notify residents of the areas to be affected 48 hours prior to closure.
