FRIDAY- JULY 9- Early Bird Reception, 3-5 pm, First Street Community Center lobby: Alumni of all ages are welcome to visit the First Street Community Center for a tour and reception. Enjoy refreshments and what was likely once your high school or middle school building.
SATURDAY – JULY 10- All-Alumni-Community Breakfast 8-10 am, Mount Vernon High School: Breakfast and Tours. Pick up your ‘grab-n-go’ breakfast & and enjoy coffee and juice along with other alumni and families, school staff, and the MV community. The cost of breakfast is a monetary donation. Eat in the commons or Fine Arts lobby, tours available.
Tristan Wirfs Hall of Fame Ceremony 10 – 10:20 am, Mount Vernon High School, Performing Arts Center: The first and main event for Tristan on Saturday is an award ceremony in the Performing Arts Center at Mount Vernon High School from 10 am to 10:20. In addition to the award Tristan will receive, the ceremony will include a video recapping Tristan’s story from Mount Vernon to the NFL and comments from Tristan about his life and career. The All-Alumni & Community Breakfast will take place from 8-10 at the High School, so this is a great opportunity to come to the breakfast, and then go to the Hall of Fame ceremony at 10, before heading to the 11 am parade.
All-Alumni-Community Reception, 11:30 until dark, old Fire Station uptown: Join alumni and community for a spot to sit down, enjoy cold water, pictures and yearbooks, play a game of bags, and get a chocolate shake! Great meet-up spot! The Association will be selling chocolate shakes for $3 each as a fundraiser.
Tristan Wirfs Hall of Fame Ceremony 6 pm – 6:30 pm, main stage, Heritage Days: A second event for Tristan will take place at 6 pm, on the main stage in uptown Mount Vernon, at the city’s summer festival, Heritage Days. The Association will present Tristan and his award, along with honorary speakers including coaches, family, and friends.
FRIDAY- JULY 9 and SATURDAY – JULY 10 — new this year!
Alumni and community members are are invited to tour all of the school buildings, including the new Performing Arts Center and the Lester Buresh Recreation Center on Friday, June 9 from 10 am to 2 pm, and on Saturday morning from 8 am to 10 am. Pick up a map at any entrance from the host for a self-guided tour.
